Border Reiver

I am Border Reiver. This name comes from the ancient term for borders based clans who robbed and pillaged from the 13th to the 17th century. I must add I don't do that sort of thing. Because I live in a very small town were everybody knows everything about everybody I shall remain anonymous for my own safety!!!

I am 40 something and have followed my local team Berwick Rangers for nearly 40 years. Although we have won two titles in our history, including last year’s Third Division, our biggest claim to fame is beating Glasgow Rangers in 1967, 1-0, Sammy Reid. Apart from that it is just a constant struggle for survival. Debts of £400,000 when you get gates of 400 are a real problem. As you can probably tell, highlights are few and far between and being somewhat remote, Edinburgh and Newcastle are 60 miles either way, the internet is where its at now.

Betfair is my first call everyday, especially during the football season. The choice of backs or lays on so many different aspects of the games, especially those in play, is a world away from a one bookmaker town like Berwick.
