Sam Turner has two tips for Thursday

Betfair tipster Sam Turner has been among the winners in the last week and is back with two tips for the all-weather on Thursday...

  • Boughey mare should relish step up in trip

  • Jack Jones might have plenty of friends among punters

  • Chelmsford test looks ideal for likeable stayer

Newcastle, 17.15 - Back Unassuming each-way @ 9/25.50

Fourteen go to post for this mile handicap and Unassuming should appreciate the return to this trip following an encouraging effort at Gosforth Park last time.

The daughter of Lope De Vega was produced at just the right moment by Jack Callan, but couldn't get past a resilient Midnight Lion who was landing his seventh course win at the 20th attempt and can be a tough adversary when in the mood.

Unassuming has run at Newcastle once before when fifth of 14 in a well-contested Racing League handicap back in August where she was stuck in traffic and set too stiff a task to reel in Crack On Boys.

Hopefully, she will have a better run at things here and her four starts with Callan aboard have yielded figures of 0112 with the unplaced effort at Royal Ascot when she was far from disgraced in the Kensington Palace Stakes.

This race looks a good fit and she ought to be on the scene again.

Chelmsford, 18.00 - Back An Braden Feasa @ 9/43.25

Handler Jack Jones has sent out four winners and two seconds from his last nine runners under both codes, including Woodhay Whisper who landed a few bets at Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening.

An Braden Feasa is one of the next cabs off the rank for the in-form Newmarket trainer and the four-time hurdle winner may have been found a good opportunity to shed his maiden tag on a synthetic surface.

The selection tackled a warm staying handicap here back in July on his sole start at this venue and the outing clearly did him no harm as he went on to take his next two hurdle starts.

Not that he was the only horse to emerge from that Class 5 handicap in good heart, winner Deep Water Bay won two of his next four, runner-up Belgravian landed his next three, while sixth-home Alpine Stroll has won three of his last four starts.

Even Perry Mason, across the line in seventh, has won twice to give the form an extremely solid look and this return to two miles after an encouraging effort over an inadequate trip at Southwell last time should see An Braden Feasa highly competitive once more.
