Sam Turner has two tips for Thursday

Betfair tipster Sam Turner fresh from a 5/2 winner on Wednesday, analyses the cards at Warwick and Taunton and finds two bets for Thursday...

  • Doff your Kap to fancied Vert

  • Saints can march back in at Warwick

  • Dickin hurdler should benefit from comeback

Taunton, 14.05 - Back Kap Vert @ 15/28.50

The decision to switch Kap Vert to fences could be a smart move by connections who look to have found a winnable novices' handicap chase for their five-year-old here.

The selection's dam was a two-time chase winner in her native France so he ought to be bred for his new vocation and he hasn't been at all disgraced on his two hurdles start this term, the latest of which came at Cheltenham in the conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle won by A Pai De Nom.

His Prestbury Park conqueror has won again since at Leicester and a number of those that finished just ahead of Kap Vert have been placed since to lend the form some substance.

The son of Kapgarde stuck to his task that day, suggesting that a step up in trip might be beneficial and he has the opportunity to bully some inferior rivals here if he can find some early rhythm at his fences.

Warwick, 14.25 - Back Lord Of All Saints @ 9/110.00

By coincidence, Lord Of All Saints also participated in that aforementioned Cheltenham handicap, albeit he didn't fare quite so well as Kap Vert.

The outing looked very much required by Harriet Dickin's gelding who was extremely easy to back for his reappearance despite conditions being in his favour.

He did, however, show a good deal more than his finishing position suggested as, although he was beaten 26 lengths and only finished in front of five rivals, he was moving well at the top of the hill from which point his rider made quite an aggressive mid-race move.

In worsening conditions, Lord Of All Saints paid for those exertions between the second last and final hurdle and faded out of proceedings as the winner, Lucky Manifest and As Legends Have It broke away from the field.

The ability which was apparent in the gelding's victories last term was very much present judged by the way he moved through that event and it appeared it was just a lack of condition which told in the closing stages.

He returns to the scene of his impressive 16 length success on last New Year's Eve and looks worth supporting with Sam Twiston-Davies booked and the handicapper dropping him a couple of pounds for his Cheltenham reverse.
