Chelmsford, 19.30 - Back Existent each-way @ 5/16.00

A return to Chelmsford following a 10-week break was the catalyst for a better run from Existent last time and he looks to have a bright chance of landing this Timeform Sprint Series Final.

The selection travelled powerfully thoughout in a similarly competitive course and distance affair three weeks ago only to be mugged on the line by the reopposing Justcallmepete.

Trainer Stuart Williams, who also saddles the less exposed Cherry Cobbler, must have wondered how his gelding was beaten and track stats of 1322 suggest he can again be involved with Ali Rawlinson taking over in the saddle.

At the age of seven he is no good thing, but if he can display the same zest and enthusiasm then he ought to be tough to kick out of the frame (there are four places available with some firms) with his mark still looking very workable under conditions that clearly favour him.

Chelmsford, 20.30 - Back Parlando each-way @ 11/112.00

There is a prospect of a genuine gallop in this Class 4 handicap and that would certainly play to the strengths of Parlando who arguably needs a pace collapse for him to figure.

Often patiently ridden in rear, that was certainly the case when the six-year-old contested a well-contested course and distance event in a higher grade last time.

The selection finished well from off the pace that day in the hands of Eddie Greatrex who steered a course towards the inside rail while the first four home all raced down the middle of the track.

The handicapper dropped Parlando another couple of pounds for that display which suggested a handicap of this nature at this level could be withing his grasp granted an end-to-end pace.
