Hereford, 14:05 - Mahler Moon @ 5/23.50

Mahler Moon doesn't do anything particularly quickly, but this step up in trip might mitigate his lack of pace and he can gain reward for two solid recent efforts at this venue.

The selection isn't always the heartiest jumper, but I'm hoping the return to a trip in excess of three miles will allow him to travel a stride slower, jump a little tidier under Jonathan Burke and capture a race which features one or two out of sorts rivals.

I wouldn't include Rule Me In in that category as he was very well supported prior to his Windsor outing last time and, although he couldn't land a blow in a race which has taken a couple of knocks, he has fewer convictions than most.

With just four previous chase starts, Mahler Moon isn't exposed at this vocation himself and remains fairly handicapped given his two November efforts around this venue were both personal bests.

Hexham, 14:55 - Back Heeztheboy @ 9/52.80

Jack Hogan has struck up a great relationship with Heeztheboy and the duo could register a third win in unison in this Class 4 handicap.

The combination last teamed up at Wetherby last month when Hogan partnered the eight-year-old to a facile 15-length success at the expense of Paddy O'Mahler who was swept aside readily in the straight.

That was the first time the selection had encountered three miles, but he looked to improve for it, earning an 8lb rise for his smooth success.

He reverts to a trip which has served him well here, but with the ground on the deep side, this handicap is bound to ride like a race over three miles and Gary Hanmer's upwardly mobile gelding is taken to score again.
