Watch Paul Nicholls' Ditcheat Diary
Il Ridoto did the business for Team Ditcheat on Saturday by winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham and Betfair ambassador Paul Nicholls was delighted with his horse.
He said: "It was great to win the Paddy Power Gold Cup. It seems obvious with hindsight that Il Ridoto would run well. He was a light weight, the ground was right and he loves Cheltenham.
"I haven't spoken to Sir Alex Ferguson, who is one of his part-owners, yet but he and his co-owners have some lovely horses and deserve all the success they get."
No concerns about Ginny's Destiny
Before the Paddy Power Chase, Team Ditcheat strongly fancied Ginny's Destiny.
Paul said: "It didn't quite happen for Ginny's Destiny on Saturday. Whether he needed the run, or something wasn't right, I don't know but we can put the run behind us.
"He is fine and there is always another day."
Kalif Du Berlais is ok after fall
Kalif Du Berlais, meanwhile, looked set for victory at Carlisle before he came down and Paul said:
"It was a nasty fall but he is ok. He jumped brilliantly and was just very unfortunate. He may end up running again in a fortnight."
Bravemansgame will run in Betfair Chase
The Betfair Chase will take centre stage on a big Saturday of racing at Haydock this weekend.
Paul always likes to have a runner in the race and confirmed one of his stable's biggest names for this year's renewal.
He said: "I have confirmed Bravemansgame for the Betfair Chase and Monmiral could go for the hurdle race. There will be plenty of others to run as well.
"The same day, Pic D'Orhy and Blueking d'Oroux will go to Ascot to run in the races they won last year. "
"It looks like a mixed week weather-wise and Saturday could be very wet. We will keep an eye on the forecase but at least there is some proper rain coming at last."
Paul will be back on Friday to preview his runners in his exclusive Betfair column and on Ditcheat Decs with Betfair's Barry Orr.
