Doncaster - 14:05: Back Grand Geste @ 5/23.50
The resurgent Sue Smith and Joel Parkinson's Grand Geste is a staying chaser on the up and can justify his position as the 5/23.50 favourite in the Great Yorkshire Chase at Doncaster.
After a couple of nice runs in his first two starts over fences this term at Newcastle and Carlisle over 2m4f (and the Carlisle run behind The Jukebox Kid has been franked with the winner scoring again from 130 recently), he was a different proposition up in class and trip in the Tommy Whittle last time.
It was a pleasure to watch him jump those park fences, with barely a mistake in the whole round, and his leap at the top of the straight was spectacular - it always is with a grey.
He's up 10lbs, but it might not stop him from 129 here, and in receipt of weight from Deep Cave (12st to 11-2) he's very much a horse on the up and Parkinson and Smith are 3-9 at 33% at the track this term.

Doncaster - 15:13: Back Milan Tino @ 9/25.50
Not often would I back a Tom George runner but Milan Tino has found a good opening at Doncaster in the 15:13.
He could be a very well treated horse from 122 as he was rated 125 for a run in a Maiden Hurdle at Ascot for his previous trainers in France.
He was disappointing all told over the smaller obstacles but is one from two over fences. Following a pretty novicey round of jumping on good ground earlier in the season on his chase debut, he appreciated much softer conditions at Ludlow to beat Lime Drop coming from off the pace.
While the going said good to soft that day in Shropshire, times indicated more soft and he'll have potentially ideal conditions with the mud at Donny.
Up to 122 he is getting almost two stone from Brookie here and as one of the youngest in the field, I'll take the potential to progress here in preference to Mighty Bandit, another unexposed sort from a good yard, but one who is too short in the betting.
