Horse Racing Tips: Trainer stats impressive for 60/1 Kempton Monday multiple

Alan is banking on a Godolphin runner at Kempton this evening

Alan Dudman has identified two horses tonight at Kempton that both run in an each-way double at a decent price...

  • Trainer and jockey stats combine impressive for 20:00

  • Menuisier over 1m3f with good numbers

  • Both selections run in Extra Place Special races

Kempton - 20:00: Back Wild Hurricane

Two plusses stand out on the stats for the opening selection in tonight's 20:00 at Kempton in Wild Hurricane, as his trainer goes for the first-time visor, and the booking of Oisin Murphy is another tick.

Murphy has a 28% win record and 50% placed at the track when teaming up with Saeed bin Suroor from 40 runners, and they are even better at this evening's trip over 1m with a huge 42% win and 58% placed. Those are deeply impressive.

Plus the headgear angle: which is always a plus with Bin Suroor - as he is 18% win and 43% placed when going for the visor.

Wild Hurricane does need to improve as he's been beaten since switching to handicaps in three runs, but did produce one of his better efforts when finishing second at Kempton in June. He was a bit short of room in that and also hung left - but he tried 1m3f on that occasion and it's a fascinating move with the trainer going down to 1m.

The 5yo is still being persevered with, and not many Godolphin runners would be still given a chance rated 72, but he has made the running on his last two starts and with the drop down to the 1m and a need to stay at the track, I would be surprised to see Murphy not employing front-running tactics.

As he's been beaten at Bath and Chepstow, usually a pair of tracks with poor races, he just might not be any good, but he deserves one more chance especially on the All-Weather to show something, as he's a good looker.

Kempton - 20:30: Back Goodwood Vision

The 20:30 1m3f Handicap is a dreadful race, and there's no sugar coating it, and with Geelong as the second favourite - a horse who hasn't won since 2021, it might be worth taking a chance at something more fancy in terms of price. Plus it's an extra place race on the Sportsbook with four places.

David Menuisier's Goodwood Vision is priced at 10/111.00, and was cut from 12/113.00 this morning, but she ran quite well in the face of some difficulties at Windsor last time.

That was near a personal best run thus far, but she has given the indication she could be stayer as she looked dreadfully slow at Salisbury over 1m, but the 1m2f at Windsor last time seemed to suit her. She made a poor start and was slowly away in that, and also a misstep failed to aid her cause.

As a 2yo she ran in some fair races without making an impact, but she was never sharp enough to make an impact in three juvenile runs.

Trying 1m3f is the angle here and she's been dropped 8lb this term to give her a winnable mark.

Her trainer does have a 22% placed record at Kempton with his runners over all trips, but at 1m3f, he holds a very good 21% win and 36% placed.
