El Fabiolo Superboost
Do you fancy El Fabiolo to win today's Celebration Chase at Sandown at 15:00? If so then head over to the Betfair Sportsbook where they've super-boosted his price from 8/111.73 to 1/12.00 for the Willie Mullins multiple Grade 1 winner.
Fairly low-key stuff at Haydock today but a decent sized field for the 14:10 is worth a crack, and the price of 13/27.50 for Trilby is big considering he is a soft and heavy ground horse.
Two factors went against him at Pontefract on Monday as he was a little short of room on the inside rail and also the drop to 5f as he didn't quite have the pace to deal with the eventual winner Alafdhal.
He was going as well as the winner going into the straight, but the way he finished, the return to 6f looks a good move today.
Previously he scored in heavy at Catterick over 6f coming from off the pace, and he did well to do so considering the splits at the end were below 100%.
He's just 2lb higher than Catterick and a flat track going left-handed are ticks in the box.
Offer And Receive was a selection for yesterday's column and was unfortunately a non-runner, but he looks to have found a much easier opening here than Sandown on Friday.
He faces only a handful of rivals and presumably his trainer Karl Burke won't be fazed by the ensuing soft and heavy ground as it was more on the good side yesterday, and he would have spotted the forecast knowing what to expect today.
A win at Hamilton on debut came in good to soft and finished well up the hill there and was green under penalty at Ayr.
He starts handicapping today from 80, but the angle is this contest looks far from deep and he's also been gelded, which hopefully will calm him down as he looked a typical headstrong Showcasing last term.
Burke is 11% win and 28% placed over the years at Haydock and the stable are forward this term.
