Ex-Byrnes runner of interest off 130
So They Say has found a good opportunity today at Musselburgh to get off the mark over fences. This is her second chasing start on Friday, and a positive in the betting from 5/23.50 into 15/82.88 sees her as the favourite on the Sportsbook.
She finished fourth to Deep Charm over C&D last time out and travelled well hitting around 2.3 in the run.
The 5yo previously ran over hurdles at Kelso with a solid effort in defeat when finishing second at a big price, and looked like a three miler on that occasion over 2m5f.
With Deep Charm (her conqueror last time) out of the race as a non-runner, it's opened up here as a pretty weak contest, and with Patrick Wadge claiming 3lb, she shouldn't be inconvenienced by saddling top weight here off 96.
Grozni ran a decent race recently on his debut for James Owen at Doncaster last time, and this ex-Charles Byrnes horse runs from the same 130 mark as that at Town Moor and is nominated to get his first win for the yard.
He was a huge price last time behind Paul Nicholls' Twinjets and was beaten 7L, and while the mark of 130 does look on the stiff side, for which he gets top weight here, again, this looks far from a deep race.
Grozni had won over a shorter trip at Downpatrick in the summer over 2m3f and he looked more of a stayer on that occasion with the way he came off the bridle and he saw out the trip strongly to win by nearly 4L.
He was rated 127 over hurdles and it will be interesting to see what tactics will be employed here as he did make the running at Leicester in the past with a dominant win.
In theory and compared to that hurdles' mark, he could be treated fair enough here.
