Horse Racing Tips: Prince Ali to rule at Wolverhampton for Monday 50/1 double

Wolverhampton - 19:30: Back Bright

Low grade stuff tonight at Wolverhampton so a small stakes day, but there's an interest in the 19:30 with Mark Loughnane's Bright stepping out of novice company to a handicap for the first time.

He scored on his first start for the stable since leaving Roger Charlton's yard for 28k and showed a fair bit of speed early on to hold his position - and one of those sectionals was timed at 11.04 seconds in the early exchanges.

Nothing got involved from off the pace and the fourth (Moon Flight) has since bolted up by 5L.

The draw is a problem in 11 out wide, but his early speed could be crucial here. As one of the 3yos in the line-up and unexposed, his price is big enough at 15/28.50.

The trainer has fired in plenty of winners at Wolves this year and sits second in the table in terms of wins with 20 at a strike-rate of 14%.

The step up in trip to 6f from 5f will suit.

Wolverhampton - 20:30: Back Prince Ali

Prince Ali was strong in the betting this morning on the Sportsbook from 13/27.50 into 5/16.00 for the Wolverhampton closer, and he's a pretty consistent performer in this lowly level.

He finished second last time over Wolverhampton's extended 1m and was a tad unlucky with the way the race panned out.

Having conceded first run to the winner, he came from further back from a gallop that didn't suit and his final two furlongs were quicker than the winner - including a final furlong 0.30 seconds that was superior and the quickest final furlong in the field.

I can see the extra furlong suiting him tonight as he saves his best for this track and won here in September and travelled as the best horse throughout.
