Good run last time puts Eleanor in the frame

Covert Mission has been out of sorts in his last three runs but he's not a total lost cause and is worth an interest tonight at Kempton.
We can back him at 10/34.33, and he's certainly drawn better here (in two) than he was last time over C&D and was thrashed to finish last from a hopeless draw.
His last win came on the turf in the summer in very soft conditions at Lingfield - a win where he made all and dominated. He backed it up after that with a good run at Ffos Las.
The 6yo is a much better horse anyway on the All-Weather and he's certainly handicapped to win from 66 considering his last success was off 70.
He's a front-runner too and can get out here and dominate from his good position.
It's been relatively slow progress with Andrew Balding's Eleanor Cross, and is without a win in five starts so far but she is improving and ran well against Caustic last time at Lingfield to produce her best run to date.
Caustic was sent off a short price that day for Owen Burrows and scraped home by a nose, but Eleanor Cross coped well with the sprint off a very slow pace and the race finishing speed was 112%. Indeed, Eleanor Cross's final four furlongs were quicker than the winner.
The front two were well clear of the third and she might be served better by a stiffer test this evening.
I thought she ran well at Lingfield in December when finishing third to a potentially smart John Gosden debutante, and even then over 1m2f it was a sprint.
She handles the All-Weather and is bred to stay and Oisin Murphy for Balding over 1m3f at Kempton has a placed strike-rate of 41%.
