Alan Dudman likes the look of 7/18.00 and 10/111.00 selections on Sunday at the Curragh for his double...

Testing ground at Curragh to suit both picks

Siren up to a mark of 90 but in form

Alan Dudman using the extra places on the Sportsbook
With three of the Extra Place Specials on the Sportsbook and some big fields at the Curragh today, it's where I am going for a pair of each-way bets. And while the ground will be a proper winter surface more akin to running 3m over fences, five places for the 13:15 guides me to Clear Quartz.
Mark Fahey's 6yo will be fresh compared to most of these as he's only been seen twice this term.
His comeback run was a non-event at Navan last month, but he is readily excused that as he was over the extended 5f, and there's not a hope in hell that he's quick enough for that these days. It was also his first run of the season and needed it, clearly.
Last time out at Galway was far more like it; finishing second in heavy over the far more suitable 7f. He came from a long way back - which is never ideal at Ballybritt, and he also received a bump and was hampered in the closing stages.
He won twice last term and absolutely thrives with the mud flying around, and while 73 is a mark that requires more, I like the angle of him being fresh and ground and trip are in his favour.
Sarah Lynam's Screen Siren done the column a good turn last time with the easiest of wins at a good price, and she can back up again at 7/18.00, although I am hoping she might drift a little considering she was backed on the Sportsbook from 9s this morning.
We do have four places to play with on the Sportsbook for the Extra Place Special, and she's well up to this with ground in her favour.
She bolted up by 4L last time at Navan and couldn't have been more impressive with the way she scythed through runners at the end so she fully deserves her rise up to 90.
This will have to be a personal best by some way, but Lynam has gone to the trouble of backing apprentice James Ryan to offset some of the rise with his 5lb claim, and with her bang in form and ground to suit, she's well worthy of an each-way play considering she travelled so strongly last time.
