The marathon 3m5f test at Taunton will sort out a few out as only one horse is a winner at the distance (Cyclop), but Enrilo's mark is in freefall as he takes in easier company today for the champion trainer Paul Nicholls.
Indeed, Nicholls is double-handed here with Broken Halo, but Angus Chelada rides Enrilo and he's a much bigger price here.
Enrilo ran a fair race in the Edinburgh National last time over 4m, and while he was put in his place by a young stayer of Lucinda Russell's that day, it was his best effort for a while.
He's had two heavy falls in his career so it looks as though it's been a case of getting him back together on the jumping stakes, and while the top weight here is off 135, it does look an easier race than he's been used to as he has been in against the likes of Kitty's Light and Frodon.
In 2019 he won a Grade 2 over hurdles, so I'll give him a chance off his mark today and he was drifting too on the Sportsbook this morning out to 11/26.50 and Nicholls is 9-30 at 30% at the track this term.
A low-grade Handicap Chase at 16:00 looks one of the more interesting races for a punt as it appears the only contest at Plumpton today without a short-priced favourite.
Flemen's Tipple has a history of finishing second already in a light career, but this doesn't look a strong race and there could be some improvement to come at a track he does go well at.
He finished second over hurdles at today's trip, but was a well beaten second by 17L although the steady pace produced a race not to his liking.
The 7yo is back over fences today and didn't run too badly on his chase debut at Market Rasen in February with a fourth. He would have been a lot closer had he not made a serious mistake and he's off a 1lb lower mark at 89 today.
Another couple of seconds at Plumpton last year over hurdles added to his silver medal collection, but he should have won one of those had he not fluffed the last with an error.
Soft ground suits and he's given the impression he's a stayer although he has got a couple of odds-on in-play defeats to his name.
