Extra Place on the Sportsbook for each-way double
Newcastle was the track for the two selections yesterday and to the naked eye, it appeared hard work to get going on the surface. Over the eight races on Monday night, only one came from the rear and the picks were both a little unlucky. With that in mind, tonight's card looks one to stick with either front-runners or those on the speed.
Revoquable is a big enough price at 13/27.50 to take a chance on with the each-way angle and the extra place as he's down to a career-low mark off 49. He had been supported early too on the Sportsbook this morning from 15/28.50.
The 4yo has been ridden prominently when successful - on the turf and over 1m at Southwell, and he's drawn well enough here for a near side position.
He was in a much better class of race last time at 0-65 level and is down to 0-52 today, but wasn't totally disgraced at Southwell on his most recent appearance.
Another Tim Easterby selection goes for the column in the 19:45, and while the Yorkshire trainer has two in the race with Snash and Misty Blues, the latter is a massive price on her 2yo form and is another for the each-way angle.
She's been outclassed badly this term having been set some stiff tasks in 0-100 company, but with that, her mark is in freefall and considering she started the season rated 87, she's dropped 17lb in the handicap to a mark of 70.
The selection was a tough juvenile who raced in strong company and stays 6f well - highlighted by her win at Pontefract last term.
She gets 7f and has made the running in the past, with that in mind, I am hoping they go forward with her and press on from an excellent draw potentially in 12.
It's a risky selection as judged on this year's efforts, she is nowhere near her best, but this is easier than the opposition she has faced for much of the season and she's a big price for the three places.
