Horse Racing Tips: Duke to stand tall in Monday 25/1 Ludlow double

Ludlow - 13:40: Back Justshortofabubble

With just two meetings today, Ludlow will take my attention rather than Kempton with the latter having only two races on the card with 10 runners.

Justshortofabubble has been a reliable performer, and that reliability could be enough at Ludlow considering half the field are rated in the 70s and 80s.

The selection does boast some winning form last time with a 2m7f success at Taunton. He outstayed Dindin easily to win by over 3L and they went a good gallop which suited Justshortofabubble as he likes a pace to run at and is usually held up off the pace.

Jockey Ben Jones does well on him, and his record on the 6yo reads 21232141.

A 7lb rise does make life tougher, but ground conditions will suit today and he stays.

Ludlow - 14:15: Back Duke Of Moravia

I am banking on Henry Daly's Duke Of Moravia to suit the step up to 3m today, as he has given an indication he wants today's sort of distance.

He ran an eye-catching race at Warwick last winter over the 2m3f behind Basher's Reflection (who has won this season in heavy), and that certainly was an effort where he shaped like a stayer.

Duke Of Moravia ran poorly last time at Chepstow over 2m4f and was thumped with a heavy defeat, but that was his first run for 222 days and he should improve.

A return to Ludlow could also be a plus, as he finished third from the front in soft conditions.

Lightly-raced and just five years of age, we are nowhere near his ceiling from a mark of 99 and his trainer Daly does hold an 18% strike-rate at the track.
