Horse Racing Tips: Destiny stamina key for a Kelso Sunday multiple

Kelso
Kelso provides the best betting opportunities on Sunday

Alan Dudman is sticking with in-form trainer Lucinda Russell again for Sunday's double at Kelso...

  • Trainer in fine form after Hexham treble

  • Handicapping for the first time to glean improvement

  • Stable at 17% this term at Kelso

Kelso - 14:00: Back Bois Guillbert

Lucinda Russell couldn't have been in better form on Friday with a treble at Hexham, although Monochromix was the one that got away hitting 1.564/7 in-running for a second, which denied the double in the north east, but that reliability from the yard can hopefully get us in profit on Sunday at Kelso.

Bois Guillbert is sent handicapping today for the first time from 116 and he possesses something I like for these northern and Scottish races with a third at Hexham, and form there often travels well.

He finished third in a Novices' Hurdle in April, and while he acted in soft ground on that occasion, the ground will be better at Kelso and that could suit him.

They didn't go much of a pace either for the Hexham run, but he did handle the quicker going and track at Wetherby last February with a stylish win with the way he travelled throughout. Crucially that came on good ground and I wouldn't mind it drying out further at Kelso to aid the selection.

He was backed this morning too with the 7/24.50 gone, and was supported into 5/23.50.

There's still improvement to come from his hurdling technique as he was very novicey winning at Ayr on his hurdling debut, but you'd like to think he's been schooled well and his jumping has shown signs of improvement although he made an error two out at Hexham.

Back Bois Guillbert @ 5/23.50

Kelso - 16:30: Back Destiny Is All

It's not a surprise the second selection is another Kinross inmate and Destiny Is All's stamina is a major factor for the 16:30 3m2f Handicap Chase and he can get his season up and running.

Russell has three of the six in the field so has all bases covered hopefully but Destiny Is All looks the pick for me, a horse who was last seen running in the Highlands National at Perth in the spring.

Generally he's a consistent chaser, but he was pulled up in that marathon. I put it down to the fact he clouted one fence early and never recovered.

He ran a cracker over 3m5f at Warwick in soft conditions when finishing second to Warwick specialist Volcano and he's not badly treated on that.

Ground conditions appear alike although he did bolt up by 7L on his second attempt at Kelso early days handicapping.

Russell is 17% at Kelso this term and she is 6-20 at 30% in the last fortnight with all of her runners and with the excellent conditional Patrick Wadge booked today to take 5lb, Destiny Is All looks set for a good run and the pick of the Russell three.

Back Destiny Is All @ 11/43.75
