Alan Dudman's latest Sportsbook double comes from Newcastle for Thursday...

Two selections at Newcastle for a 50/151.00 double
-
Alexander James well handicapped on old form
-
Sixcor deserves another chance to break better

Alexander James is a Newcastle regular and he's in well-handicapped territory these days from a mark of 70. Last winter he was rated nearly 90, so he has to be a player off top weight in the 19:30.
He was a bit unlucky at the track over 7f in January when he finished second and had no room to play with at all inside the final 2f - so it showed he can win a race off his tumbling mark.
It's a worry he's been in the winners' enclosure just once since 2021, but he was competing at a much higher level 12 months ago and a return to 1m tonight from 7f might just do the trick as he is a previous course and distance winner.
Sixcor has been quite the mover on the Sportsbook from 10/111.00 into 13/27.50, although his latest effort was hardly one to lavish any sort of praise on.
He did miss the break and was always on the back foot in a race where Sugar Hill Babe pretty much made all the running, so Sixcor does need to be a bit sharper today in terms of a start.
The draw is a good one nearside in 10 and he had enough speed to win at Wolverhampton in November with a more positive ride sitting on the speed.
Tonight will be his 50th career start although only eight of those have come on the All-Weather and I expect a bit better from him this evening than his tame effort last time.
