Alan Dudman has 4/15.00 and 13/27.50 tips for Monday
I very rarely have a bet at Bath as it's a track that I struggle with, viewing isn't great and the racing is mostly of a weak standard, however, there's a Class 4 Handicap there today and Simple Man is a horse I thought looked a good prospect last year, and this his easiest task to date.
Indeed, I put him up at Sandown last time and he finished stone last, so it was too bad to be true.
Whether that run was needed after a break of 119 days I am not sure, as he hasn't stood much racing so far in his career with just four starts, but it's a valid excuse.
His 2yo run at Nottingham on his debut was impressive last term and his trainer Henry Candy, never one to be optimistic, threw him into a Listed race on his second run.
Candy has sent out just four runners at Bath this term, but he did win a race and Simple Man is worth one more go to back on track from a 1lb lower mark.
Mark Walford's y3yo Girl From Italy is still seeking her first win and having started out as a sprinter, Walford might have found her niche as a horse over 7f or 1m.
Indeed, she races over the 1m tonight at Newcastle and she ran well over CD last time when making the running and looked a big player hitting 1.364/11 in the run.
She was outstayed by Cusack who held some previous form over 1m2f, so there was no shame in that defeat and she appeared to get the 1m well.
Up 2lb shouldn't be any sort of issue, but this is an easier grade from 0-60 to 0-55.
The selection also finished third at Southwell previously, and that was her first run on the All-Weather, and she still fits as an unexposed runner on the artificial surfaces.
