Alan Dudman has two tips for Lingield in the Oaks and Derby Trial races and both pay 62/1 in the Sportsbook double...

  • Classic Trials Day at Lingfield with two bets

  • Beckett yard creeping into form

  • Will Meydaan prove to be a Derby player?

Ryan Moore Superboost

Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore has three strong rides at Lingfield this afternoon, including the favourite in the Lingfield Derby trial at 15:00, and if you fancy the star jockey to ride at least one winner today you can back him at the super-boosted price of 1/12.00 (from 8/131.61).

Lingfield - 14:25: Back Treasure

Ralph Beckett's horses have been slow to come to hand, and at one stage was 0-18 with his runners, but he's had three winners over the last week and also one at Chester, so here's hoping his runners are about to hit some sort of form.

He is double-handed in the Lingfield Oaks Trial and Treasure at 6/17.00 has the look of a filly who will stay.

Her debut as a 2yo, her sole start, came at Nottingham in heavy conditions in October, and while the form is hard to gauge as the third has been well beaten since, her forte looked stamina there and should get 1m4f standing on her head.

Beckett won this in 2012 with Honor Bound, a filly who went on to finish well beaten at Epsom, but Treasure has a totally different profile to her.

Danielle is odds-on for the Gosdens and Aidan O'Brien's horse Rubies Are Red was well beaten at a short price last time at Leopardstown. Both of course can improve plenty as fillies often do at this time of year, but the presence of the pair means we'll get a price on Treasure.

Lingfield - 15:00: Back Meydaan

This isn't always the strongest of Derby Trials and I'm taking a bit of a swing with Meydaan for Simon and Ed Crisford at a big price. He's moved too from 10/111.00 into 15/28.50.

He won on debut at Newcastle in November as a 2yo and won quite easily without ever being asked a question and travelled ever so well through the race. And he wouldn't be the first Classic winner to come from the All-Weather.

Last time out he was seen at Newmarket at the Craven meeting under penalty, but the race didn't suit him at all nor did the track. It turned into a sprint and he looked ill at ease with both factors.

He wasn't particularly quickly away and also was outpaced two furlongs out.

Up in trip and as a son of Frankel and a Pretty Polly winner, he's another worth a chance as he looks as though he will stay even though his official rating tells us he has to improve a fair bit.

A good performance here and he could be off to the Derby, which continues to be called the "Epsom Derby" for some reason.
