Soft conditions at Sedgefield to suit both selections

Tom Creen 3-4 over fences at the track

Two tips at 7/52.40 and 5/16.00 for Thursday
Sedgefield will start on officially soft ground today but rain is forecast so there's every chance we could see some heavy in the description at some point and Tom Creen in the 14:10 is one that won't be inconvenienced by the ground at all.
The 8yo operates at a low level but he's been good over fences so far with 3-8 and he's off the back of a personal best last time winning over CD and he's 3-4 over fences at Sedgefield.
He beat Milton Harris' Fakir easily last time by nearly 5L - his second wide margin win at the track.
The Englands have clearly schooled him well over the larger ones as he's a solid jumper too and produced a sharp round of leaping when he won over CD last winter off 79.
Needing a personal best today from 98 and top weight might put a few off with 12st, but I like backing top weights in handicaps and his rivals are hardly in great nick. Indeed, the second favourite Morandi Second, who has been backed from 15/28.50 into 5/16.00 was beaten by miles last time.
While not a great price at 7/52.40 and nothing too exotic, it's hard to see anything good enough to catch him as he goes from the front and is pretty much a no-nonsense Sedgefield horse.
Regular readers of this little enclave will know I am a fan of Hexham form as I think it travels well for these northern handicaps - especially over a trip. If you've a stayer, you've got half a chance.
Solway Molly was a winner at Hexham in October over 2m4f - her first win over hurdles and she showed there's still the possibility of her chiselling out another win or two from her mark as she ran well in defeat when finishing second at Carlisle last time.
That was the infamous race where a poor member of the ground staff was knocked over the start, and I got the impression the race, and indeed the meeting that day suited those coming from off pace. Zwicky, who was ahead of Solway Molly at Carlisle, was rated 12lb superior so there was nothing wrong with that effort.
Her style of racing should suit Sedgefield as she races up with the pace, and Connor Rabbitt has ridden her twice this term and he's an excellent conditional that is worthy of the tired old cliche "well worth 5lb".
She's another that acts well in soft.
