Two selections on Monday for 16/117.00 Sportsbook double
A pretty low-key day and bets were difficult to dig out, especially at a price, and Brighton is a track I very rarely have any interest in at all these days, so that meeting is easily passed.
However, Chepstow is a track where I like to back and stick with front-runners, and Azahara Palace is one that likes to dominate, and should have the ideal set-up as she seeks another CD win.
She landed back-to-back races at Chepstow earlier in the summer in June and July on good and good to firm going, and she appears to be uncomplicated although her trainer Hughie Morrison has said she has been quite difficult to train.
The 3yo attempted to make the running last time at Salisbury and went quite hard for the win only to be picked off late.
Stiffer tracks suit her as she found Catterick too sharp earlier in the season in third, and Morrison is 3-5 at Chepstow this season (thanks to Azahara Palace's two wins) at 60% with a profit to level stakes of +17.91.
The 1m3f Handicap at Roscommon tonight could have a potential couple of improvers with the 3yos tackling the older horses, and Kadeen looks worth a shot on his handicap debut.
He shaped really well on his first start of the season in June in a good maiden at the Curragh - a race where he travelled quite nicely and hit 4.03/1 from 10.09/1 in-running.
The 3yo duly built on that promise with a victory back at the Curragh to win on good ground despite idling at the end.
There's a bit more to come from him given his staying pedigree, especially off his mark today from 75.
