DRF Horse Racing Tips: In the mood for a Nolan double at Leopardstown

Trainer Paul Nolan
Paul Nolan has two good chances for Sunday's action at Leopardstown

Alan Dudman had a place and a non-runner yesterday and he goes for a big price each-way double for Leopardstown on Sunday...

  • Park Of Kings placed for Alan yesterday

  • Two Extra Place Special selections for Sunday

  • Feet Of A Dancer very interesting up in class

Leopardstown - 12:40: Back Feet Of A Dancer

We managed a small profit yesterday with Park Of Kings' placed run in the extra place race for Paul Nolan, and I am sticking with the Wexford man with his lightly-raced mare Feet Of A Dancer.

Once again, a big field with 19 runners for another Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook and we can use the five places here, and she might drift too from her 13/27.50 price.

She looked very impressive at Fairyhouse last time upped to 2m4f, and while the trip was a factor in that win, she really enjoyed the change to soft conditions (as had been running on good) and she travelled so sweetly throughout.

The 5yo looped the field on the outside and her jockey that day was still keeping hold of her when they ran into the straight and her jumping was good too - nice and low and quick.

The selection deserves her 12lb rise, and also deserves her place in this sort of field, and considering two of her wins have been over 2m4f (she won in the summer at Wexford by 4L), this sort of field size run at a pace shouldn't trouble her at all with the way she travels and is still improving.

Leopardstown - 15:50: Back Conyers Hill

If Paul Nolan has a good day, so will we, as the yard's Conyers Hill is another who makes the list today in the 15:50 2m Handicap Hurdle - and with a field of 22 we can play the five places again.

He won a couple of races at Cork earlier in the season and for his Maiden Hurdle win he cruised through the race and hacked up by 8L.

The 6yo competed in a Listed Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse in early December and looked unlucky in that where he finished third, but he travelled strongly again and looked ahead of his mark, but met trouble late on and was denied a clear run.

He gets played late in his races and is often held up off the pace, and those tactics backfired last time in a strong race at Leopardstown, but he was given far too much do in fifth.

Off the same mark and ground very much to suit, he's another I expect to go well and he was backed too this morning on the Sportsbook from 11/112.00 into 9/110.00.
