Alan likes the look of two big priced runners at Wolverhampton this evening

Alan Dudman tipped Magical Vision as a winner yesterday and returned 17.29 as a BSP and his search for a double takes him to Wolverhampton on Monday in a 101/1 each-way multiple...

  • Alan picked out 10/1 winner Magical Vision yesterday
  • Newcomer and veteran the two selections for Monday's Wolverhampton card
  • Al Dudman is backing a 101/1 each-way Sportsbook double today

Woods' newcomer of great interest at a decent price

Back Savvy Brilliance @ 8.515/2 each-way in the 18:30 at Wolverhampton

A fine win for the 5yo mare Magical Vision yesterday for the column, tipped at 10/1 and returned a BSP of 17.29. It takes the run to five winners from eight selections, although I really could have done with the Ado McGuinness filly in the Birchatcher hitting a place. She ran well, but not well enough.

Monday without Carlisle is a bit gloomy, so we go in search of a winning double at Wolverhampton and plenty of 2yo races are on the card tonight.

Sean Woods has done reasonably well with his juveniles on the AW this term with a 3-15 record at 20%, but crucially for the each-way pick, eight have placed.

Savvy Brilliance makes his debut and cost 180,000 guineas with a tip-top pedigree, and with him drifting, the market might be underrating his chances. Roger Varian's Tawafag is towards the top of the betting and while he ran well at Redcar on debut, I am trying to wean myself off of these short prices from the big Newmarket yards.

The selection is related to Pinzolo - who won on the AW and he has a pair of juvenile winners in his pedigree too. He's a Cracksman, and while the sire is an influence for stamina, he is injecting speed into his runners and I don't have too many worries for the 7f this evening.

This is Cracksman's third ever runner at Wolves and one of his youngsters was placed.

Hoping Poet can dance into a place under Russell

Back The Dancing Poet @ 12.011/1 each-way in the 20:30 at Wolverhampton

Brian Ellison's The Dancing Poet is an infrequent winner from his 12 attempts on the All-Weather, but he's fairly consistent and in good nick, and with a couple of unexposed types towards the head of the market, he looks overpriced at double figures.

He has won a couple of races at Catterick, including this term from 68, and while he doesn't have much in hand from 70 today, he doesn't mind a sharp-left handed circuit.

Indeed, he has a fair record at Wolverhampton with 3423 from his four stars.

The veteran ran well at Newcastle last month behind the potentially progressive General Citizen, and was third at Southwell back up to 1m6f.

A sharp mile and three quarters could be his best distance and Harry Russell is able to claim 3lb. The trainer and jockey have a 38% placed record together at Wolverhampton and The Dancing Poet is certainly an each-way price.
