Have belief in McCreery again to land Listowel feature
Back Self Belief @ 5.59/2 in the 16:20 at Listowel
Another double landed on Sunday in the last column at 10.519/2, to take the recent successful run to 23 winning single bets from 21 days. Backing all those runners since the 25th August to a BSP would have showed a profit of +100.09 points. We go on with the action.
A super card to look forward to at Listowel on Tuesday and with some yielding still in the surface and going description at the time of writing, Willie McCreery can land the Listed race with the unexposed Self Belief.
The 3yo is stepping out of maiden company after beating a field of 19 rivals at the Curragh earlier in the summer, with a time figure that was reasonably positive given the soft ground.
After a tardy start, Billy Lee gave him a lovely ride to get into contention down the middle of the track and he looked a potential Listed performer that day. The form has worked out too with the second, fourth and fifth all winning since, and Paris Peacock (who finished runner up that day) has won a stack of races, including a Group 3 last time and is rated in the three-figures.
Lee is the leading rider at Listowel this term and McCreery has won this race twice in the last seven seasons. It all points to a big run at a good price at 9/2.
Back Saltonstall to bounce back
Back Saltonstall each-way @ 29.028/1 in the 17:30 at Listowel
The big handicap of the day is over 1m to close the afternoon in County Kerry, and with a large field we also have the Extra Place Special in play - and remember you can back two in the same race to place using a multiple.
I'm giving a chance to my favourite Saltonstall, who is a double figure price at a massive 28/1 - and a drifter too this morning.
He's been in some tough battles in his time, and is without a victory for a while. Since 2020 in fact, but it means he is well handicapped from 92 today and he did finish second in the Nasrullah Handicap earlier in the season from 98. So his mark is tumbling, and all is not lost on that run.
The veteran ran poorly on his latest start, but I think he's best at today's trip of 1m, and I am hoping he can outrun his massive odds for the each-way multiple at massive 158/1.
