Trainer Gordon can ready Only Money to win the cash
Back Only Money @ 3.02/1 in the 15:50 at Fontwell
Exoplanet provided yet another winner yesterday in the recent run at 5/1. That's now 21 winners in the last 20 days, and backing each single selection to BSP would have made a profit of +95.77 since August 25th. Therefore it was rather disappointing Natasha couldn't even hit the place money for the each-way multiple. Although picking a Roger Varian winner, it wasn't a day to ignore all of his others!
Options are somewhat thin on the ground for a Sunday, but that's to be expected. Only Money at 15/8 in a small field can hopefully start us off well to seal a double.
Coal Stock came out yesterday as a non-runner, so with just four left, it's not the best turnout for a 0-120 worth over 5k to the winner.
Only Money is stepping out of novice company, but he has been progressing enough to make him of strong interest for this and his two of three wins have come on genuine good ground - which he'll get on Sunday.
He ran a decent race at Newbury last winter. Having made the running, he hit a couple of fences in the closing stages, although those Newbury ones are some of the stiffest in the land.
A lay-off of 233 days is a slight concern, but he did win his bumper after 93 days off, and he's worth taking a chance on. His trainer Chris Gordon has a 22% strike-rate here over the past five seasons.
Expect something magnifique from Francaise
Back A La Francaise @ 3.55/2 in the 16:30 at Hamilton
Four handicap debutants line up for the closing 16:30 1m3f 0-70, but it doesn't a strong race.
A La Francaise fully deserves to be 5/2 market leader as she finished third in the Racing League at Southwell recently, and is taking a substantial drop in class for Sunday.
That was her first time in facing 1m3f, and she seemed to get the trip very well. Indeed, she was a shade unfortunate in the closing stages having met trouble in-running, but she did come from a long way back and I can see Hamilton's stiff finish suiting her.
The filly had previously raced in Kirsten Rausing's green and white silks, and she has virtually a carbon copy today with the new owners Summerstorm Bloodstock. They picked her up for just 14K at the recent summer Newmarket Sales, but she has a good pedigree and crucially with today's stamina trip in mind, her dam is by Sir Percy - a big influence for a thorough test.
Jim Goldie and Paul Mulrennan are 1-4 at 25% and 50% placed over 1m3f at Hamilton too.
