Rachael Blackmore Superboost!
Betfair ambassador Rachael Blackmore has a great chance on Bob Olinger in the 15:30 at Aintree today, and if you fancy the horse to run well you can back today's Betfair Superboost for her to finish in the top two at 1/12.00 (was [8/15!]).
Aintree - 14:45: Back Corbetts Cross
Corbetts Cross was so impressive at Cheltenham in the National Hunt Chase that I want to keep him onside for the Grade 1 today over 3m1f.
I was initially keen on Bravemansgame at the price, but I worry about the heavy ground for him, whereas Corbetts Cross hacked around in testing conditions at Cheltenham.
Like most horses this week, the turnaround from the Festival has to be considered, as his trainer Emmett Mullins said the Irish Grand National was a possible, but it could come too soon. However, Mullins always has something new for a plan.
He'll stay alright, no problems there, no issues with the ground present themself either as most of his form is on soft and heavy.
Aintree - 16:05: Back Spyglass Hill
Having had a brief scan of the entries earlier this week, I had looked at Spyglass Hill for thre Foxhunters when he was towards the top of the betting at around 4s and 5s, but with him drifting to 7/18.00, I am keen to include him in the double. Of course if you are playing on the single, we have the each-way option with four places. Although the 7s had gone into 13/27.50 just before filing!
One thing Spyglass Hill has in his favour is that he enjoys testing conditions and displayed that with a battling attitude to win the Walrus at Haydock last time from Iskandar Pecos - and the second subsequently won a couple of times including a wide margin win at Leicester.
It won't be his first spin around Liverpool as he ran in the Grand Sefton back in 2021 but came down at the Canal Turn.
He does have winning form in heavy, and over shorter too and he stays well. He was generally pretty sound jumper when previously trained by Henry De Bromhead.
I can't say this is my area of expertise in the Hunter sphere, but when dealing with price, if a horse I was interested in has gone from 4s to 7s, then he is worth including. If you want a more detailed Hunter analysis and a man who knows his stuff in this field check out my pal Darran Pearce on Twitter.
