Cheltenham Day 3 Superboost

Twelve-time Grade 1 winner Jonbon has been well-backed to win today's Ryanair Chase at 16:00, and the Betfair Sportsbook have generously super-boosted his price to 1/12.00 to finish in the first three.

The Nicky Henderson-trained stable star has never failed to finish out of the first two in all 26 career starts, and with the stable in hot form this week Jonbon should give followers an excellent run for their money

14:00 Jack Richards' Novices' Chase - Back Ben Solo E/W at 25/126.00

Having put up Ben Solo last week for the Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase in the expectation that he'd struggle to get in, I see no reason to desert him not that he's made the cut for the race.

Trained by Rebecca Curtis, the seven-year-old remains lightly raced over fences and has already hinted that his current mark could underestimate his ability. He opened his account at the second attempt in a handicap chase at Chepstow in November, travelling with authority before asserting late on.

The selection looked set to enhance that profile when returning to the same venue on Welsh Grand National day, only for his chance to end three from home when still moving strongly through the contest. The form of that race has a notably solid look, with the second, third and fourth all winning on their next starts -- the runner-up subsequently landing a valuable handicap at Cheltenham.

On that evidence, Ben Solo may yet prove considerably better than his current rating of 129 suggests and, while he still faces a significant step up in class in this company, his profile is that of a horse open to improvement and one who could easily outrun big odds if able to reproduce the promise he has already shown.

With five places available on the Sportsbook, Ben Solo makes plenty of appeal from an each-way perspective at 25/126.00.

Cheltenham Day 3 NAP: 15:20 Stayers' Hurdle - Back Bob Olinger @ 13/27.50

The staying hurdlers are to the fore on day three of the Festival and, while there is a legitimate question as to whether time may be beginning to blunt the edge of Bob Olinger, his record at Cheltenham means he automatically commands the greatest respect.

The winner of the Stayers' Hurdle 12 months ago, he returns to defend his crown with the advantage of a relatively light campaign and arrives fresher than many of his principal rivals.

He was comfortably held by Teahupoo on his seasonal reappearance in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown, but that may not tell the whole story.

That race was his first outing of the season, and he ultimately shaped like a horse in need of the run. It's also worth remembering that when the pair met in this contest last year, Bob Olinger had that rival behind in second.

Connections have again opted to keep him fresh with a spring target in mind, and there is every chance he will strip considerably fitter for his return run. With his proven affinity for the track and a strong Festival record, odds of around 13/27.50 on the Sportsbook make him a sound proposition.

A number of younger challengers are beginning to emerge in the staying hurdle division, but several still have improvement to find if they are to dislodge the established names at the top of the market.

17:20 Kim Muir Challenge Cup - Back Prends Garde A Toi E/W @ 12/113.00

The Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase is often a race where improving staying chasers can outrun their odds, and Prends Garde A Toi makes appeal as an each-way candidate.

Trained by Gordon Elliott for Gigginstown House Stud, the seven-year-old remains relatively unexposed over fences and shapes like a thorough stayer.

His win at Naas over 2m 4f earlier in the season hinted at solid stamina and he confirmed that when fourth upped to 3m 3f last time.

Elliott won this with a novice a few years back and the selection retains handicapping scope from his current mark, leaving the impression he could progress further when the emphasis is firmly on stamina.

In a race where that stamina could prove crucial, Prends Garde A Toi has the profile of one who ought to stay on strongly up the hill and can reward each-way support if things fall his way.

Mark Milligan's Cheltenham Multi Tip: Each-way makes plenty of appeal

Betfair is offering Bet £10 Get £10 on Racing Multis each day of the Cheltenham Festival, and on a fiercely competitive day of racing I suggest we keep it simple with an each-way double on a pair of the above selections.

I've already made solid each-way cases for both Ben Solo and Prends Garde A Toi, with the win portion of the double paying a whopping 337/1338.00, while even if both were to place, we'd make a handsome profit on the day.
