Course-and-distance winner Adrestia heads the weights here for Simon & Ed Crisford, who have the 'Hot Trainer' flag, but this 0-90 contest represents a drop in grade for a filly who can boast some useful form.

She won the Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap at Royal Ascot last season and was second in the listed Beverley Bullet on this day last year but has yet to make any impact this season.

However, she showed more encouragement from a poor draw at Goodwood last time and she heads the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings with cheekpieces going on for the first time.

Stephen Thorne's useful gelding Gleneagle Bay attracted support when winning a highly competitive premier handicap over course and distance in June and that gives him every chance in this conditions race.

Since that win, Gleneagle Bay has run twice at the Galway Festival but had no luck in running on the first occasion and again shaped better than the bare result when earning the 'Horse In Focus' flag five days later.

Heading the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings on these terms, he can resume winning ways.

Harriet Bethell's Cambridgeshire entry On The River hasn't run at Beverley for some time but was a dual winner at the track back in 2023 and therefore has the 'Horses For Courses' flag.

His last win came at Carlisle last summer, but he's now a couple of pounds below that last winning mark and returned to form when a very close third at Newcastle last time, coming from further back than ideal.

If building on that, he can take advantage from fully 5 lb clear in the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings, while the going looks very much in his favour too as he has plenty of winning form on soft or heavy ground.
