Cheltenham... Only Bettor Episode Four
On episode four of Cheltenham Only Bettor Brendan Duke replaced the on-holiday Kevin Blake and introduced himself to the show with a bang by putting up 50/151.00, 33/134.00 and 14/115.00 chances to keep on side in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase antepost market.
The team delves into the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase market off the back of the performances of Stay Away Fay, Giovinco and Indiana Dream at the weekend.
Natalie, Daryl and Brendan also review the week that was by looking through some of the best performances of the last seven days, including the likes of El Fabiolo and Jonbon.
Rounding off the show this week, Daryl Carter put up his fourth antepost selection for the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, picking out a horse for the Turner's Novices' Chase at 10/111.00.
Stay Away Fay will stay all day
Betfair ambassador Paul Nicholls' novice chasing star Stay Away Fay is two from two over fences after seeing off the talented Giovinco at Sandown on Friday.
Scoring on his chasing debut at Exeter last month, when he showed superb staying ability, he had to do the same again on Friday against better opposition in the Grade Two Esher Novices' Chase.
Brendan Duke was full of admiration for the Chris Giles & Dave Staddon owned animal and made that run his performance of the week.
Jonbon and El Fabiolo a class apart
The leading 2m chasers in the sport, El Fabiolo and Jonbon, both put up stylish performances last week to strengthen their positions at the top of the 2024 Champion Chase antepost market.
Jonbon made it a hat-trick of Grade 1 successes in open company by seeing off Edwardstone and Haddex Des Obeaux to take the Betfair Tingle Creek.
El Fabiolo made his first appearance against the more experienced animals at Cork on Sunday, and although giving 10lb to the second placed Fil Dor, managed to comfortably take the contest.
Currently 10/111.91 and 5/23.50 in the betting for the Champion Chase, the race at this stage looks a match contest between the pair. They could meet before the Festival at Ascot in the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase.
Cheltenham Festival antepost selections week three recap
Kevin Blake kept his powder dry in week three. However, Daryl Carter managed to find an angle into the 2024 Cheltenham Festival markets.
Delving into the Mares Hurdle division, Daryl picked out Ashroe Diamond at 11/26.50 to take the final Grade 1 on the first day of the meeting.
Check out this week's episode to see who Daryl added to his Cheltenham Festival 2024 antepost portfolio.
