Our resident tipster Rhys Williams has analysed Wednesday's racing and has a sole selection at a big price at Fairyhouse...

First time blinkers can sharpen him up

Weihnachts is overpriced at Fairyhouse
Weihnachts failed to beat a rival at Cork last time but I think he's become lazy racing in cheekpieces and I'm hoping that first time blinkers can spark a revival from him today.
He never seemed to be travelling on that latest start but he was still in touch in a tightly packed field entering the home straight before dropping away quickly and finishing well beaten.
I thought he also raced quite lazily through the early stages when racing over 3m three starts ago at this track before making headway early on the final circuit to join Kilashee for the lead. The pair raced together up front for most of the final circuit until that rival unseated rider at two out and Weihnachts didn't quite see out the trip, fading into third.
It is concerning that he's been quite a bit below that level on his two subsequent starts but that showed that he may still have some ability and the application of blinkers could see him revitalised and travel smoother through the race. The testing conditions should also be no issue for him.
There is a concern that he might have a wind problem as he stopped quite quickly two starts ago and did the same last time when a tongue tie was back on but despite that worry I think he's overpriced and any 20/121.00 or bigger appeals.
