Coconut Twist is overpriced at Newton Abbot
There are a few runners in this Novices' Handicap Chase who could be dangerous if coming back to life but I think a last time out winner has the potential to be well handicapped on his return to racing under rules.
Coconut Twist was a very comfortable winner when last seen in a maiden at Larkhill in January, cruising to the front at two out before easing clear of his rivals while barely being asked. He showed a tendency to edge to his left at the fences that day so the switch to a left-handed track should be in his favour.
Prior to that, he had put up two good runs in defeat over hurdles behind Secret Trix, who is now rated 26lb higher, and My Gift To You who was winning off 70 that day is now rated 105.
The quality of those two pieces of form and his win at Larkhill suggest that Coconut Twist has the potential to be better than his rating of 87 and he could have a good pace to track today if Hold The Fort and Sans Of Gold take each other on up front.
The ground is an unknown for Coconut Twist with the best of his form coming on quicker ground but hopefully he can handle it and build on the promise of his most recent performances. Any 4/15.00 or bigger appeals.
