Master Templar is overpriced w/o the fav at Stratford
Iskandar Pecos heads the market for the John Corbet as he tries to make it four hunter chase victories in succession. Rather than taking him on, I think there's a more appealing bet in the without the favourite market.
Dul Ar Aghaidh is a new recruit for Bradley Gibbs. She was a free going front runner when racing in Ireland, so fits perfectly into the Gibbs style, and she will appreciate going left-handed but I think there has to be a doubt over whether she can see out this trip. There are also stamina doubts over Forest Chimes who was an impressive winner when dropped back in trip and with the hood removed last time but I'm not convinced racing over this trip and the hood going back on is what he wants.
The trip should be no problem for Master Templar who has put in two very good performances on his last two starts. He beat Shantou Flyer in a Ladies Open at Cotley when travelling far sweeter than had often been the case in the past and built on that with a good run in defeat at Cheltenham in the four miler last time. He raced keenly early on that day but despite his early exuberance and the testing conditions, he kept battling on under pressure to finish second.
I think chasing a likely strong pace could be the ideal setup for Master Templar and as long as he's recovered suitably from the Cheltenham run, I think he's a standout danger to the favourite. Any 5/42.25 or bigger appeals in the without the favourite market.
