Figaroc is overpriced at Thurles
Zanahiyr heads the market for this beginners chase following a good run on chasing debut behind Fact To File at Leopardstown but I'm not sure the switch to a right-handed track will be ideal for him given he was jumping to his left around a left-handed track last time.
Others towards the front of the market also have various questions to answer, so I'm taking a chance on one at a big price who I think could be more of a danger than the market currently suggests.
Figaroc hasn't been competitive at the finish on either chasing start but I thought he ran better than the finishing position suggested on his chasing debut at Punchestown. He was in a line of three for second jumping three out before fading in the home straight.
He was held up at Gowran over 2m4f last time and wasn't given a particularly hard time after being unable to go with the leaders early in the home straight, finishing 16 lengths behind the winner in sixth.
The drop back in trip will suit Figaroc and I'm hoping they go back to riding him much handier over this trip to make use of his enthusiastic style of racing.
As with Zanahiyr, there is the concern that he jumps out to his left and it might be that he's just a weak finisher. But his price more than compensates for those concerns and any 20/121.00 or bigger appeals.
