Likely very strong pace to suit

Returning to quicker ground

Hurstwood is overpriced at Catterick
The closing six-furlong handicap at Catterick looks likely to be very strongly run and I'm hoping that sets the race up for a late closer.
Hurstwood is contesting this race for the second year in a row having finished fifth in the race last year despite being caught wide throughout in a race that wasn't run to suit.
He followed that up with a victory at Ripon and further respectable runs in defeat off higher marks than he races off today.
Hurstwood comes into this race on the back of being well beaten on his seasonal debut at Thirsk but the very testing ground that day was unsuitable for him and the same happened last year prior to him running well in this race.
It may be that he will need another run to put him spot on for a return to a straight track but this race could set up ideally for him given the huge amount of early speed and hopefully he can pick up tiring rivals late on. Any 14/115.00 or bigger appeals.
