Paul Casey is an English golfer who was born in Cheltenham in 1977. He currently resides in the United States and is a member of both the US PGA and European Tour.

At the height of his career so far, the Englishman has been as high as number three in the world rankings.
Casey has represented Europe on three occasions in the Ryder Cup, and has won the team competition twice.
The Gloucestershire man turned professional in 2000. That came after lots of success as an amateur. He is the only man in history to win three consecutive Pac-10 Championships as he won the event in 1998, 1999 and 2000. He was also English Amateur champion in 1999 and 2000.
In 2001, Casey joined the European Tour. He won the Scottish PGA Championship in his opening year in August by one stroke ahead of Alex Cejka.
The England born golfer finished 2003 sixth in the order of merit. He picked up victories in the ANZ Championship and International Open. That earned him a spot in the 2004 European Ryder Cup team. The visitors to the Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan prevailed 18 ½ - 9 ½. Casey won his first match in a four-ball with David Howell, but then lost his singles match against Tiger Woods on the final day.
In 2005, a year after winning in a tie for sixth in the US Masters, he joined the PGA Tour. He chose to play the majority of his tournaments in Europe still and it wasn't until 2009 that he was a regular in US based events.
Casey's opening win in America arrived in the Houston Open in April 2009. He had to secure the title after a play-off victory against J.B Holmes.
Success in the 2009 BMW PGA Championship lifted him up to a career high of number three in the world rankings.
In the 2010 Open Championship at St Andrews, Casey finished in a tie for third, his highest placing to date in a major championship. The tournament was won by South African Louis Oosthuizen, who was eight shots clear of the field after the fourth round. Lee Westwood was runner-up, while the former world number three was joined on eight under par with Roy McIlroy and Henrik Stenson.
The 12th European Tour win of Casey's career came in the 2013 Irish Open, his first win in over two and a half years.
