Jim Furyk is a professional golfer who was born in Pennsylvania, United States. He was the winner of the U.S Open in 2003, his only Major Championship win so far in his career.

The American is a member of the PGA Tour and has had 26 professional wins so far since turning pro in 1992.
The veteran has been involved in eight Ryder Cups for the U.S national team and has represented them on seven occasions in the Presidents Cup.
Furyk's first win on the PGA Tour came on October 15, 1995 in the Las Vegas Invitational. The tournament was over five rounds and he finished with a combined score of 331, which put him -28, one stroke ahead of second placed Billy Mayfair.
The former All-American also won the Las Vegas Invitational in 1998 and 1999, while there was success in the 1996 Hawaiian Open in the early stages of his career.
In 2003, Furyk broke his maiden in Major Championships in the U.S Open at the Olympia Fields Country Club. He was able to lift the trophy after a winning score of 272 which was -8 to par. That left him three shots ahead of the field with Australian Stephen Leaney in behind.
After wins in the Wachovia Championship and Canadian Open in 2006, the American climbed up to number two in the world rankings, his highest position to date. Between 1999 and 2011 he spent over 360 weeks inside the top 10 as he was one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour.
2010 has been one of the best years of the former U.S Open winner's career. He won three times that season. First he scored in the Transitions Championship in March at Palm Harbour in Florida. Then he was able to defeat Brian David in a playoff for the Veriwon Heritage in April, while in September, his biggest win of the year was in The Tour Championship. The hat-trick of tournament wins helped him win the PGA Player of the Year and the PGA Tour Player of the Year.
Furyk has won the Ryder Cup twice for the United States. He was a part of the team that defeated Europe in 1999 in Massachusetts, while in 2008 they were successful in Kentucky.
