Graeme McDowell is professional golfer who was born in Portrush in Northern Ireland in 1979.

The Northern Irishman now resides in Florida and is a member of both the PGA Tour and European Tour.
The biggest win of his career to date came in the 2010 US Open when he won the opening major of his career at Pebble Beach. In doing so, he became the first European to win the American-based event in the 40 years.
McDowell has been as high as number four in the world rankings and has represented Europe in three Ryder Cups. His nickname in the sport is G-Mac.
The US Open winner went to the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he played college golf in the United States.
McDowell turned professional in 2002, and in what was only his fourth start on the European Tour, he won the Scandinavian Masters by one shot ahead of Trevor Immelman.
His second tournament arrived two years later in Turn via a playoff for the Italian Open. After tying at -19 with Frenchman Thomas Levet, G-Mac was able to win with a par on the first extra hole.
In 2008 there was success at both the Ballantine's Championship and Scottish Open. The latter brought up his fifth European Tour win at the time.
The biggest month of his career came in June 2010. He was a three shot winner of the Celtic Manor Wales Open back in the UK. Then, two weeks later, he won his first major and US PGA Tour event in the US Open. In an event that had been dominated by American players in the previous four decades, McDowell ended the 40-year wait for a European winner by matching what Tony Jacklin did in 1970.
2010 got even better for the Northern Irishman in October when he was part of Team Europe's win in the Ryder Cup against the USA. G-Mac was involved in the last singles game on Sunday and it was his point that secured a 14 ½ - 13 ½ win at Celtic Manor.
McDowell was also involved in the European team's success across the Atlantic in 2012 at the Medinah Country Golf Club where they retained the Ryder Cup with another 14 ½ - 13 ½ win. The visitors trailed 10-6 on the final day but dominated the Sunday to produce a stunning comeback.
