Group G Betting Guide

With Iran and New Zealand completing Group G, Belgium should really fancy their chances of finishing top as they're 6/101.60 favourites against Egypt in what should be their toughest test of the three.

Mohamed Salah's side are 9/25.50 here so they're unlikely to get a first ever World Cup win in this fixture, but have two real chances of getting off the mark coming up after Belgium.

Belgium may not have their full golden generation in their prime, but under Rudi Garcia they couldn't be in better form, coming through qualifying unbeaten as second top scorers in Europe and arriving here unbeaten in 13.

Egypt also qualified unbeaten and with clean sheets in four of the last five they've stiffened up at the back, but keeping this rampant Red Devils attack out is a different story.

And even with Salah and some question marks over some of Belgium's defence, Thibaut Courtois is about as good as it gets with seven clean sheets in 15 World Cup appearances - plus in the last two friendlies - so Egypt goals will be hard to come by.

It's 20/231.87 for both teams not to score while a Belgian win to nil is priced up at 6/42.50 and looks the most likely outcome. Egypt have drawn a blank in four of their past five defeats, while Belgium have scored 4+ goals in seven of their last eight wins so once they get in front they usually take teams to the cleaners.

They may not put a bagful away against this Egypt side but a win and a clean sheet will do them nicely.

Doku double part of 6/17.00 Bet Builder

Mohamed Salah, who was involved in 60% of Egypt's goals in qualifying, is a tempting price at 11/43.75 to score anytime, while Omar Marmoush is 10/34.33. They've both gone three internationals without scoring.

Egypt have struggled of late to create against the better sides - mustering just two shots on target against Brazil and one against Spain, Nigeria and Senegal

Despite that, though, it's hard to imagine Salah not at least generating a shot on target at 8/111.73 even if he's not yet 100% fully fit after injury.

Romelu Lukaku is just 5/42.25 to score but he's had a torrid time with injury this season, Charles De Ketelaere is 2/13.00 to score anytime and is the other option to play down the middle up front.

Kevin De Bruyne is not what he once was, but he's still capable of producing big moments and backing him to have a shot on target from outside the box at 11/102.11 looks the most likely of his player props.

But Jeremy Doku is the spark for Belgium, leading the team through qualifying with five goals and two assists while he also created more open play chances than anyone else in the European competition and had the most touches in the box.

So Doku is short at 6/52.20 for a goal or assist but if anyone is to be involved in a goal it'll likely be him.

He's prolific on the stats sheet too, which is where we'll back him for a Bet Builder. He's 11/43.75 for 2+ shots on target, which he's landed in three of his past five, and we can pair that up with Doku to be fouled 2+ times for a double of around 4/15.00.

And help can come from the opposite side as Leandro Trossard has hit the target in three of his last four internationals so his 8/151.53 for 1+ shot on target is a nice little addition.
