Newcastle confirm Tonali, and seek Phillips

Newcastle United have today confirmed the signing of Italy international Sandro Tonali from AC Milan for a fee reported of £55m.

Tonali, who called it a dream to move to Milan just two years ago, has penned a long-term contract with the Premier League club.

He was a mainstay in the Milan side that went on to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals last season, with new club Newcastle qualifying for the same competition this upcoming season for the first time since 2003.

Kalvin Phillips, meanwhile, has been linked with a move to the north-east and is 17/29.50 to join Tonali at Newcastle.

Despite winning the treble with City last season - something they are priced at 25/126.00 to do so again in 23-24 - Phillips found game time hard to come by.

West Ham remain favourites to sign the England international however, currently priced at 7/24.50 to land Phillips.
