Manchester United have improved their bid for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana in a sign they are determined to bring him to Old Trafford.

David De Gea is out of contract at United but is odds-on to stay at the club and 5/23.50 to make the move to the Saudi Arabian league.

However, Erik ten Hag is keen on signing Onana and the size of the bid - thought to be around 50m euros - indicates that if the deal does happen the Cameroonian would be United's number one.

Inter wanted 60m for their goalkeeper who was integral to their march to the Champions League final.

Reports on Thursday afternoon suggested that they would accept 55m. Talks are continuing between the clubs.
