Back Son Heung-min to get a shot on target in for Spurs against Man CIty

"Son hit 45 of his 68 shots with his right foot last season so the stats say you should look for him to have a go with his favoured foot again."

Paul Higham is specifically targeting Son Heung-min's right foot for his player props bet for Tottenham v Man City on Sunday...

It's great to have the Premier League season back and we've got our first huge Super Sunday of the campaign as Man City visit Spurs in a game littered with storylines and talking points wherever you look.

Will Harry Kane play is the big one - if he starts then you just know the footballing gods will see him score against the team he wants to join.

Kane only joined back up with the squad on Friday so he's a big price at 3.55/2 to score anytime here with Nuno Espirito Santo unlikely to start with him - but it's a price that will reap the rewards if you take a punt on him featuring at some point.

There's too much uncertainty for that in our stats column here though so we're going to focus on what we do know for sure.

It was a sure thing for Mohamed Salah to score on the opening day for a record fifth straight season on Saturday, which helped us bag a winner, but we're missing a couple of stat certainties in this game with Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden out injured.

Pep Guardiola's team selections are always a bit unpredictable but he could start Jack Grealish for his City debut while Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus all returned to training this week.

It's a bit of a lottery on City's team, but one man who should be a nailed-on starter for Spurs is Son Heung-min - who could be crucial to Nuno's gameplan here. The former Wolves boss found a way to beat City twice in the 2019/20 season.

Son's also scored in the last two meetings at home - both 2-0 wins for Spurs - and the 4.03/1 OddsBoost on him to score again on the Sportsbook is a tempting price.

He'll be Tottenham's main attacking threat without Kane and he's scored in all three of the games he's played against City at the Tottenham Hostpur Stadium.

Chances may be few and far between here though given the expected sit back and counter attack plan Nuno should employ, but Son's good enough to least get a couple of shots off.

The Korean averaged a shot on target every 90 minutes last season with 68 in total - and although he's genuinely effective with either foot, his right foot was by far his favoured shooting boot last season.

Son unleashed 45 right footers to just 18 with his left, and if you pick him to land just one on target with that favourite right boot with the #OddsOnThat shots on target special on the Sportsbook that's a nice 2/1 price for playing what the stats say is the far more likely option.
