Yoane Wissa: Brentford centre forward

Our football props column turns its attention to Sunday's sole Premier League game and digs out a 9/2 shot for Nottingham Forest v Brentford...

  • Wissa under-rated for shots

  • Jensen & Gibbs-White fouls regulars

I mentioned yesterday how the bookies can often be slow to react to props trends, especially with the promoted teams.

Marvelous Nakamba duly delivered his 2+ fouls (woeful Everton let down the rest of that bet, of course).

Leg 1: Yoane Wissa 3+ shots

Brentford aren't a newly-promoted side but Yoane Wissa isn't a player who has started too many Premier League games, certainly not in his current position, and the layers don't really seem to have cottoned on to his shot-taking ability.

Wissa is the suspended Ivan Toney's replacement at centre forward for the Bees and he's got two goals in six games so far, looking a decent threat despite Brentford's rather disappointing start.

Significantly for this column, he's also managed at least three shots in five of his seven starts this season, yet is available at 7/52.40 for a repeat here.

With Thomas Frank needing a response after last week's home defeat to Everton, that looks worthy of support.

The fouls markets also offer opportunity.

Ryan Yates has been a profitable source for 2+ fouls for some time and this season he's landed it in all four starts.

The problem is that figure four - he's not been a guaranteed starter for Steve Cooper and given the problems we've had this week with substitutes coming on for a few minutes and essentially ruining our bets, backing him at odds-on now isn't something I'm prepared to do.

The advice is to check the team news an hour before kick-off - always the best time to place your props bets, to be frank. Yes, you might be able to get value earlier but unless you are very sure your selection will start, it can come back to bite you.

Leg 2: Mathias Jensen 1+ foul

Instead, I'll turn to a couple of his team-mates who look highly likely to start.

Midfielder Mathias Jensen gets the nod for 1+ foul given he's landed this in all six Premier League games this season.

Leg 3: Morgan Gibbs-White 1+ foul

Also worth backing in that market is Morgan Gibbs-White with 4/91.44 looking a decent price given he's landed it in 13 of his last 16 Premier League appearances.

The Bet Builder treble pays close to 9/25.50.

Back Wissa 3+ shots, Jensen 1+ foul & Gibbs-White 1+ foul @ around 9/25.50
