Football Bet of the Day: Canaries to chirp in Norway

In Finland yesterday, we got the home win we were looking for - and then some. With two goals in either half, IFK Mariehamn thrashed ropey RoPS 4-0 to land our handicap bet.

We're sticking in the Nordic countries for what we hope will be another one-side match in the Norwegian 1st Division this afternoon. Newly relegated to the second tier, the once mighty Lillestrom have not made an outstanding start to life at a lower level, but we do fancy them to do a job on Strommen today.

Lillestrom are seventh in the table after 11 matches (W4-D4-L3). Geir Bakke's men won just one of their five games at Arasen Stadium, but have a chance to improve that record against weak travellers this afternoon. The Canaries have at least scored twice in each of their last two appearances on home turf, striking before half-time in both games.

Second-bottom Strommen have the 1st Division's worst away record, accruing just a single point from their first six road trips of the season. Most recently, they lost 1-5 at league leaders Ranheim. Going back to the start of 2019 they are W2-D5-L13 on the road and have been behind at the break in 9/13 of those defeats. We fancy Lillestrom can be winning at half time and full time in today's clash.
