We got the goals and the corners we wanted last night, but Strasbourg's Habib Diallo had a quieter night than we hoped for, and failed to hit the target in his side's 2-1 defeat. That said, we are still in profit for the week, and we head to Germany for a second-tier clash between Hannover and Nürnberg.
Both of these clubs have had Bundesliga spells in the 21st century, but neither ever looked truly likely to go up this season. Hannover coach Stefan Leitl has struggled to find consistency in his first season in charge, with his team winning ten, drawing seven and losing 12 in the second tier. A run of two wins in 13 put an end to any lingering hopes of pushing for the top three.
Nürnberg, who were at one stage the pre-eminent club in Germany, are more concerned about staying up. The Franconians are on their third coach of the season, after board member Dieter Hecking decided to take the reins himself after Markus Weinzierl had failed to make a significant impact. Hecking is an experienced coach himself, having previously led big Bundesliga clubs like Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Nürnberg aren't totally safe from the drop, but a 2-0 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf has given them breathing space in the scrap for survival. On the road they have been atrocious lately, taking just a point from their last five away matches and conceding 13 goals along the way.
This is a battle between two poor teams, but given Nürnberg's awful away form I'll use the Sportsbook's Bet Builder to back Hannover/Draw, Over 7.5 Corners and Over 1.5 Goals. There have been at least two goals in 19 of Nürnberg's 29 league games, and 23 of Hannover's 29. As for the corner count, both teams' games average more than nine corners per match.
