Football Bet of the Day: Future for goals is bleak

We're off to Egypt this evening

We're heading to Egypt, and Kev hopes to see a borefest between Future and Smouha.

  • Smouha have drawn 0-0 in four of last five

  • Fewer than two goals in most of Future's league games

The cave of wonder that is Scottish League Two let us down yesterday, as a red card spoiled the game between Forfar and Elgin City. A late winner for the visitors gave them the three points, but left us well short of where we wanted to be for our Over 3.5 Goals bet.

We move on to Egypt now, because in-form Future are up against Smouha, but it's difficult to see too many goals in the game.

Smouha have only scored three times across their first ten league games of the season, and remarkably four of their last five top-flight outings have ended goalless. Only one of their ten league matches have featured more than two goals. It won't surprise you to learn that The Blue Wave are just above the relegation zone.

Future won promotion a couple of seasons ago, and having finished fifth last term, they are doing even better this time around. Ali Maher's side are just five points off top spot with a game in hand, and they have racked up six wins and four draws so far.

It's tempting to back the home win here at 1.910/11, especially when you consider that Future have won three of their last four games at the Al Salam Stadium. However, I'm going to go for Under 2.0 Goals on the Goal Lines market instead at 1.910/11, simply because of Smouha's ability to stink the place out and play for a goalless draw. That bet has paid out six times already in Smouha games, and in six of Future's ten matches.
