Sheffield United v Brentford
Saturday 9 December, 15:00
Sheffield United switched manager in the week but Chris Wilder faces a monumental task keeping the Blades in the Premier League.
In statistical terms, it is particularly worrying that they've conceded more shots and more shots on target than any other side and that's an area that punters could profit from.
Wilder is limited in terms of personnel changes he could make due to a lengthy injury and suspension list so I'm not expecting them to suddenly tighten up.
Brentford also have injury issues - most notably losing Bryan Mbeumo in midweek - but they've coped with plenty of absences this season.
Last week they managed 27 shots against the Blades' fellow strugglers Luton and their quality should see plenty of opportunities created here.
Leg 1: Yoane Wissa 2+ shots
First up, I'm happy to base our Bet Builder on Yoane Wissa to have two or more shots, something he's managed in 11 of 15 starts this season.
He was actually benched against Brighton in midweek but will surely return to the starting XI here after Mbeumo's injury.
Leg 2: Ben Mee 1+ shot
A specific area I'm keen to target is set plays with Brentford having had the most shots from those situations in the Premier League this season. They also boast the highest set-piece expected-goals tally.
In addition, Sheffield United have conceded more set-piece shots than every side bar Luton.
I'm therefore turning to Ben Mee and Ethan Pinnock in the 1+ shot market.
Mee recently returned to action following injury and in the four starts he's had since his comeback, he's landed this bet in three.
The centre-back had three shots against Luton last week and can another against this defence.
Leg 3: Ethan Pinnock 1+ shot
Pinnock completes the Bet Builder.
He's been mentioned in this column already this season with his aerial threat notable.
The Jamaica international has had a shot in nine of 16 games and fears that his numbers would drop off upon Mee's return have proved unfounded - he's delivered this in four of his last six.
Given the opposition, I'll happily add Pinnock for another shot in this game, bringing the odds of our Bet Builder to around 5/23.50.
