Unai Emery is a specialist in European competition

Paul Higham is backing Moussa Diaby to bag a goal for Aston Villa in the first leg of their Europa Conference League tie with Hibs at Easter Road...

The Europa Conference League qualifiers may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's a really good tie for you here as Hibs take on Premier League side Aston Villa.

Lee Johnson's side will host the first leg at a sold-out Easter Road after coming through two previous rounds of qualifying, but having a dodgy start in the league with two opening defeats in their Scottish Premiership campaign.

Villa are back in Europe after 13 years but in Unai Emery they have one of the best managers around in European competition - having won three Europa League titles in a row with Sevilla, adding a fourth with Villarreal and even getting Arsenal to the final.

And his Premier League side are huge favourites to grab a first-leg advantage to take back to Villa Park.

Leg 1: Over 2.5 Hibs cards

This is Hibs' biggest game for a while and the crowd will really be up for this, meaning the players will also be revved up.

And in Europe, against a side with as much quality as Villa, means there'll be a few cards being shown to the home side.

They've had three booking or more in three of their six games so far this season so this mark could actually be a bit on the conservative side.

Leg 2: Over 5.5 Villa corners

Aston Villa may have to battle a bit in the early stages, but as long as the team that beat Everton 4-0 turns up more than the one thumped 5-1 at Newcastle they should win comfortably.

Even at Newcastle they won five corners, while they had seven against Everton at Villa Park - so against this opposition they should have a few.

Emery has good options out wide so Villa getting six corners really should be the floor of their ambitions.

Leg 3: Diaby to score

Moussa Diaby has arguably been Villa's best player this season and looks like he could be a cracking signing from Bayer Leverkusen.

The French forward has scored one goal but leads Villa in terms of shots with six and shot on target with four.

He should really be too good for Hibs to handle and as long as he gets enough playing time he should be able to find the net.

He's had plenty of European experience at Levekusen and has 14 Europa League and Champions League goals to his name - and could add his first Conference League goal to his CV in Edinburgh.
