We're making a rare trip to India this afternoon

We're making a rare trip to India, and Kevin Hatchard is backing the reigning champions to pick up a win.

Bengaluru v Mohun Bagan
Thursday 11 April, 15:00

Last night's Scottish action was a literal washout, as Dundee's clash with Rangers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch which had passed an inspection in the morning. We move on to India - quite the gear change, I know - because Mohun Bagan are in great form as they visit struggling Bengaluru.

Mohun Bagan have had their named needlessly changed to Mohun Bagan Super Giant, but that shouldn't detract from their long and proud history. In was founded in 1889, which makes it one of the oldest football clubs in Asia, and the Calcutta-based team have won a whole host of leagues and cups.

In modern times, Mohun Bagan finished third in the regular season, but they went on to win the playoffs, beating tonight's opponents Bengaluru on penalties. They are having another strong campaign, having won 13 of their 20 league matches, including seven of the last nine. On the road in the Indian Super League, they have won eight of their last ten away matches.

Hosts Bengaluru have lost nine of their 21 games, and even though they have put together a strong run of form at home (they are unbeaten in six), they were smacked 4-0 at home by the leaders Mumbai City in December. Mohun Bagan are of a similar standard, and are fair favourites here.

I'll back the visitors -1.0 on the Asian Handicap here at 2.26/5. Mohun Bagan have the joint-best attacking record in the league, they regularly win on the road, and eight of their 13 league wins this season have been by two goals or more.

Back Mohun Bagan -1.0 on the Asian Handicap at 2.26/5
