We turned the air blue in Peru last night, as Melgar conceded a stoppage-time equaliser against Uni San Martin. We switch our attention to Spain now, because Villarreal are up against Eibar, and I fancy Unai Emery to pick up his first win as boss of the Yellow Submarine.

Villarreal should really have won last weekend at the Ceramica against newly-promoted Huesca, but they failed to make the most of an attacking performance that saw them produce an xG figure of 2.72, and they were on the wrong end of the kind of stunning team goal that doesn't come around very often. Villarreal have won six of their last 12 home games in the top flight.

Emery has some quality players at his disposal. Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin came in from Valencia to strengthen the midfield, exciting young Japanese player Take Kubo has been signed from Real Madrid on loan and enterprising left-back Pervis Estupinan is a fine two-way player.

Eibar have more modest means, and were smacked 4-0 at Villarreal just two months ago. They have failed to score in five of their last seven La Liga games, and they have lost five of their last eight on the road.

I fancy Villarreal to win with room to spare.
